| Originally a charter airport it is now the home of a number of 'low cost' schedule airlines. London Luton is 32 miles from central London by road. London Luton Airport's passenger figures continue to rise with more than 5.4 million people, travelling to 60 destinations, using the airport annually. |
Luton Airport Parkway station: Located on the Thameslink line, with the journey to central London (serving Kings Cross station) taking less than 30 minutes. A free shuttle bus will take passengers on the 1.8 km journey to the terminal.

London Transport: Operate the 'tube' (subway) connections at Kings Cross station. Cheap and cheerful.
Public Carriage Office: Operates the famous London black cabs within London. Taxi rank at Kings Cross station. They have the 'Knowledge' of London but you pay a premium for it!

Owned by: Luton Borough Council
Operated by: In August 1998 a unique public/private partnership saw the concession to operate the airport for 30 years awarded to a private consortium. The consortium is made up of Barclays Private Equity (32.5 per cent shareholding), Barclays UK Infrastructure (32.5 per cent), TBI plc (25 per cent) and Bechtel Enterprises (10 per cent).
